Botanic Primary School is celebrating it's 70th
anniversary this year!!!
It has been very exciting finding out about the opening of the school. The
children started school on 5th May 1939 and the official opening was 9th June
1939. The school was celebrated as the latest in modern design, especially the
outside ampitheatre - as an outdoor classroom, in the middle of the school.
However, there was a little controversy, as the school was built on land
proposed as an extension to the Botanical Gardens!
